‘Teen Mom’ News Pile: Kail Lowry Says It’s Unfair She’s Not Paid for Streamed Episodes; Jenelle Evans’ Friend Comments on Her Reconciliation with David Eason & More

Raise your hand if you think you’re being ripped off…

From demanding more money, to defending culturally insensitive wardrobes, it’s been a busy week for the stars/former stars of the “Teen Mom” franchise! In an effort to bring you up-to-date on the latest “Teen Mom” news, The Ashley brings you the Teen Mom News Pile.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…

Kail Lowry Says She’s Upset That ‘Teen Mom’ Is Now on Streaming Networks & the Cast Doesn’t Make Money From It

“Certainly not a residual check to come every time someone watches Jo hold my foot!”

Kail says she and her ‘Teen Mom 2’ castmates aren’t making a dime off of the show being streamed on Netflix and other streaming services— and she’s not happy about it.

During Thursday’s episode of her Coffee Convos podcast, Kail was asked how she feels about the show going to streaming services— something that wasn’t even possible when she signed her first ‘Teen Mom 2’ contract back in 2009. She told her co-host Lindsie Chrisley that she thinks it’s unfair that the cast doesn’t profit off the show, despite the streamers and network continuing to make money off of it.

“I have mixed feelings about it,” Kail said. “From a business standpoint, I’m upset because I exploited my life, in the grand scheme of it all, for not a lot of money.”

“This plastic surgery ain’t gonna pay for itself, Netflix! Pony up!”

Kail revealed that she and her ‘Teen Mom 2’ co-stars were paid only $10,000— before taxes— for appearing on ‘Teen Mom 2’ Season 1. (The Ashley can confirm that this is true. The girls were enticed to sign on because the $10k salary was double what they were paid for appearing on 16 and Pregnant, which was only $5,000 and a camcorder.)

Kail said that she and her castmates could have never expected that the episodes would someday be available on-demand via streaming services.

“The money that people think we made versus the money that we actually made is really upsetting today,” she said.

Kail— like all of the ‘Teen Mom’ cast members— agreed via their show contracts that they would receive no residuals from the show. However, she feels that because streaming services weren’t an option back then, a new plan should be devised so that the people on the shows can profit off the show’s streaming success.

“When [the show] came on Netflix, we don’t get royalties from that,” Kail added. “So [the network is] still making millions of dollars off of us. I no longer make that money, but I am raising kids that you guys exploited for millions of dollars…”

“If anyone is gonna exploit these kids for profit, it’s gonna be ME!”

Kail says she’d like to rally the cast to try to get more money.

“Because [asking for streaming royalties] wasn’t an option back when we signed our contracts, I do feel like there should be something where we could all come together and be like, ‘This wasn’t an option when we all signed the contracts and now that it is, you do owe us money because we’re raising kids and you left us with no resources!'”

“That’s what the MONEY was for…but OK.”

Lindsie— who appeared on Chrisley Knows Best— agreed.

“I signed up for [each ‘Chrisley’ episode] to be aired on that date, with reruns on Bravo and E!, not on a streamer, so there should have been some type of financial exchange,” she said.

“We are owed something for [the streamers] to continue to make money off of us,” Kail added.

Jenelle Evans’ Longtime Friend Ryan Dolph Gives His Thoughts on Jenelle Getting Back with Her Ex-Husband David Eason

That feeling with one of your “friends” sort of supports another one of your terrible life choices…

Another one of Jenelle Evans’ friends is weighing in on the recent news that she has reunited with her employment-challenged ex-husband, David Eason, just months after the problematic pair’s divorce was finalizedRyan Dolph— who has known Jenelle for years and was very supportive of her decision to finally ditch her swampy soulmate– recently took to X to give his thoughts on the pair’s reconciliation.

As you may remember, Jenelle appeared on TikTok Live with Ryan back in March 2024– a month after Jenelle and David split– to fill him in on her then-estranged husband’s hijinks, which included allegations that David had stolen money from her. In the coming months, Jenelle claimed that David was abusive to her and her children, as well as in possession of child exploitation materials.

“What can I say? I know how to pick ’em!”

After a since-deleted tweet this week led critics on social media to accuse Ryan of “switching up” his previously high (HIGH! HIGH!) opinion of the mom of three, Ryan argued that his disdain for David doesn’t negate his friendship with Jenelle.

“It’s always going to be [saying] ‘f**k that guy,’” Ryan wrote of Jenelle’s Swampmate. “Other [than] that good riddance maybe it will work out this go around wish em luck.”

Despite his statement, Ryan continued to get backlash on social media for brushing off Jenelle’s reignited relationship, with some asking Ryan if David’s return has left him concerned for the safety of Jenelle’s kids. In addition to the claims of abuse Jenelle herself made against David, commenters noted Jenelle’s previous claim that David was in possession of child exploitation materials, to which Dolph replied, “All PEDOS NEED KILLIN.”

“Yes I worry about her safety but who am I of anyone else to tell [h]er what she can and can’t do with her life,” he continued. “Let [h]er be… if it bites [h]er in the ass then who else’s fault is it not mine or urs idk why it matters to y’all at this point just let it be.”

In another tweet, Ryan insisted that if he were “to witness any of those actions” from David– including animal cruelty– Jenelle’s former/current soulmate “wouldn’t be here to see another day.”

“ … what would you like me to do exactly?” Ryan asked another person who brought up the safety of Jenelle’s kids. “I get the concern about the kids and yes he’s a pos he always has been but what exactly do you want for me to do here that you can’t?”

When another person pointed out to Ryan that Jenelle is “a piece of s**t” whether she’s back with David or not, and that anyone who supports her is just as bad, Ryan argued that was only trying to take the high (HIGH! HIGH!) road.

“It’s a lose lose with y’all if I was to sit here and trash [h]er y’all would praise me and I’m not gonna stoop to that level,” he wrote. “It’s her life like I said good riddance and hope it works out this time… I mean hell she don’t gotta pay the sob now if she’s back with [him] like y’all say.”

(Ryan is referring to the divorce settlement Jenelle was ordered to pay David when they finalized their split last summer. Jenelle agreed to pay David a total of $33,450, which would be divided into monthly installments.)

David is currently shacking up in Casa de Jenelle in Las Vegas.

Farrah Abraham Defends Her Decision to Rock a Revealing Getup at the Great Pyramids

As you do…

Farrah Abraham doubled down this week after critics online slammed her recent choice in vacation wear.

Last weekend, the former ‘Teen Mom’ star, who recently treated her daughter Sophia to a trip to Egypt for her 17th birthday, shared a series of photos to Instagram taken during the mother-daughter vacation. In the photos, Farrah posed in front of the Great Pyramids while sporting a sheer skirt and a barely-there top that many fans deemed inappropriate, given the setting.

Farrah, one strong breeze away from exposing her own pyramids…

“You’re brave. Showing so much skin for such a conservative country,” one person wrote in a since-deleted comment, according to Page Six, with another encouraging Farrah to learn some “cultural respect” before traveling to another country.

While Farrah seemed to have no issue with the hoards of hate she received in the comments for the camel riding she and Sophia did on their vacation– as proven by her decision to allow said comments to remain on her post. She went on to fire back at her fashion critics this week. The infamously premature political candidate told TMZ that if her revealing outfit at the pyramids had actually been an issue, someone would have informed her. In fact, Farrah insisted that local women were not only kind during her visit, they were also allegedly doling out compliments to the mother-daughter duo over their style choices.

The camel’s like, “Girl, please, no one said that.”

On Tuesday, Farrah took to her Instagram Story to address her scandalous desert wear once again.

“America the costumes for Egypt we sell look stupid and should represent Egypt better,” she wrote. “The end.”

Farrah’s latest fashion faux pas comes a week after she attempted to steal the spotlight on Sophia’s birthday by claiming in a social media post that she and her teenage daughter are so close that they’re often mistaken for siblings.

“I love that everyone thinks we’re sisters and can’t believe that we’re not friends, #teenmom life,” the 34-year-old wrote.

Kiaya Elliott Shares First Photos & Reveals the Name of Her Two-Month-Old Son

“Much to Zay’s dismay, we did NOT name our second child after a video game character.”

Two months after welcoming her second child, former ‘Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant’ star Kiaya Elliott shared photos this week of the new addition to her family, while also revealing her baby boy’s name.

“Two months of loving you ❤️ Kobi Bo-Truce Gambrell,” Kiaya captioned a carousel of photos and videos of baby Kobi.

As fans of ‘Young & Pregnant’ know, Kiaya and X’zayveon “Zay” Gambrell– who is also the father of Kiaya’s first son Amor– welcomed their second child in January. Shortly after announcing Kobi’s birth, Kiaya told fans she had not yet selected a name for her son and explained that she wouldn’t be showing his face on social media “until his facial features come in.”

Prior to Wednesday’s reveal, Kiaya kept her son’s image under wraps by cropping him out of videos or covering his face with an emoji. She also kept his name a secret until this week, often referring to him as “Koko” in her social media content.

Kiaya, hyping up baby #2’s big debut this week…

While Kiaya and Zay’s relationship appears to be going strong (at the moment), Kiaya admitted in November that she regretted not waiting until she was married to have another baby.

“ … I see why people wait until they’re married and stuff to have kids,” she said. “ … the way that my life is going, I genuinely wish that I would’ve waited until I was married to have kids. And no, [Zay] is not my problem. Like, he is not all of my problem or whatever, but I do feel like being married and being established would make pregnancy a lot easier.”

Zay, on not being the biggest problem in his baby mama’s life at the moment…

In January, Kiaya revealed in a wild TikTok that Zay’s mother, Carla Gambrell, was convicted of assaulting her while she was pregnant with Kobi.

According to court records, Carla committed the Chili’s-parking-lot assault– which was classified as a Class 1 misdemeanor– on Kiaya on October 24. Carla went on to be sentenced to 90 days in jail; however, all 90 of those days were suspended, meaning that she was able to dodge serving any time behind bars. She was also sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation.

“…but next time, I’ll make sure to keep my nonsense far away from the parking lots of any chain restaurants in the area.”

After recalling the attack to social media followers, Kiaya claimed that Carla had been barred from seeing her and Zay’s children, insisting that the boys will “literally know her as being dead.”

  1. Kailyn is completely self absorbed. Such an ugly quality.

I feel very sad for how confused Jenelle’s children, especially Kaiser and enseley

  2. There are people working their asses off everyday in regular jobs that are barely making minimum wage. Kail got paid massive paychecks for several years to sit on her couch and talk about her baby daddies all day. Forgive me for not feeling sorry for her.

  3. Kail, MTV did not exploit your children, YOU did, and you continue to do so. Not to mention, you continue to move in every loser who’s willing to pretend they like you in exchange for a free meal. Pathetic!!!

  4. MTV wouldn’t have offered royalties even if streaming were as big in 2009. The options were no residuals or no contract. Her goal of “rallying” the other castmates is hilarious. Do they really need more opportunities to be public embarrassments?

  5. I never thought Kail was stupid until now.
Sure girl, MTV will just hand you more money out of pure goodness of their hearts even when they are not legally obligated to do that 😂
Be ffr and stop being greedy, you have TONS of money thanks to the platform MTV gave you

  6. … MTV couldn’t have exploited your kids if you didn’t sign a contract

  7. Kail, stfu. You act like you deserve to get paid for existing. Greed doesn’t look good on anyone. Bitching about ‘royalties’ and only getting paid 10k in season one YEARS ago for doing…absolutely fucking nothing except getting pregnant and creating drama for a show. You didn’t work. You simply allowed yourself to be filmed. Move along.
